Deck Demolition in Tallahassee

A deck that flexes underfoot or has soft, splintering boards is not something to keep patching. Whether you are rebuilding, extending a patio, or simply reclaiming the yard, we remove the old structure completely so the next step can start clean.

We take out decking, joists, beams, railings, stairs, and lattice, and pull posts and footings when the plan calls for it. Everything is hauled away in our trailer, and the ground gets raked and swept for fasteners before we leave.

What comes out

  • Wood, pressure treated, and composite decking
  • Joists, beams, and ledger boards
  • Railings, balusters, and lattice skirting
  • Stairs and landings
  • Posts and concrete footings when requested
  • Attached benches and planters
  • Rotted or storm damaged sections only
  • Full debris haul off and site rake
The Process

How deck demolition works with us

1

Measure and plan the tear down

We look at the deck size, attachment to the house, footing type, and yard access before quoting one flat price.

2

Careful removal

Decking comes up first, then framing, then posts. Working in that order protects siding, irrigation lines, and landscaping.

3

Haul, rake, and sweep

Every board and fastener leaves with us, and we finish by magnet sweeping and raking the exposed ground.

FAQs

Deck Demolition questions we hear a lot

Can you remove only part of a deck?
Yes. Partial removals are common when a section is rotted or a homeowner wants a smaller footprint. We cut clean lines at the sections you want to keep.
Will removing the deck damage my siding?
The ledger board is detached carefully and we patch nothing structural, but we work to leave the wall in the condition it was in behind the deck. Expect fastener holes where the ledger attached.
Do you pull the concrete footings?
We can. Footing removal adds labor and disposal weight, so tell us up front and it will be included in your estimate.
How soon can a new deck be built after?
Usually immediately. We leave the area clear so your builder can start layout the next day.
Do you handle screened porch or pergola removal?
Yes, similar structures are within our light demolition scope. Send photos and we will quote it.
